[Please note that in this audio meditation Pir Vilayat is speaking alternately in English and in German. The corresponding transcript is in English only.] So the second Jhana is not only how does matter appear, it is the consciousness of your consciousness that has taken over, but how does your thinking and thinking of people appear.
And you see how thought gets limited by concepts.
And so you get into what Pir o Murshid calls the essence of thought.
(pause)
So you don’t allow yourself, you don’t allow your thoughts to slip down into concepts.
(pause)
So we've said form is only an outer means and one can overcome one’s thinking in terms of form.
And then the next one is that - can you do this.
Consciousness becomes infinite.
We already said that it’s not your consciousness.
But now we see that it is absolutely infinite. So before it was infinity of space, now it is infinity of consciousness.
(pause)
And instead of thinking that your consciousness has extended, think that it has dissolved in the infinity of consciousness.
That is, the consciousness of the universe takes over from your consciousness.
(long pause)
You see, one just has to lose the sense of “I am” and also the sense of “doing it” because “doing it” is related to the idea of “I am.”
So then it takes over without your will.
(pause)
That way you have to give up the idea of “I am experiencing.”
Replace it by being not limited to “I am.”
